Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is a structured method of defining and establishing the steps necessary to assure that a product satisfies the customer. The goal of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is to facilitate communication with everyone involved to assure that all required steps are completed on time.

Effective Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) depends on a company`s top management commitment to the effort required in achieving customer satisfaction. Some of the benefits of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) are:

Advanced Product Quality Planning training

The success of a Product Quality Plan is dependent upon an effective training program that communicates all the requirements and development skills to fulfill customer needs and expectations.

Advanced Product Quality Planning team

First step in Advanced Product Quality Planning is to assign a process owner for the APQP project. In addition, a cross functional team school be established to assure effective product quality planning. The team should include representatives from multiple functions such as engineering, manufacturing, material control, purchasing, quality, human resources, sales, field service, suppliers, and customer, as appropriate.

It is important for the organization`s product quality planning team in the earliest stage of the Advanced Product Quality Planning to identify customer needs, expectations, and requirements.

Control Plans

Control Plans ate written descriptions of the system for controlling parts and processes. Separate control plans cover three distinct phases:

  • Prototype
  • Pre-launch
  • Production
